This unique stethoscope with a two-sided chest piece offers high acoustic sensitivity for superior performance. A traditional bell is combined with a diaphragm allowing you to switch between the two depending on your preference. The diaphragm side can be used to detect surface sounds such as a bitch's heartbeat whereas the bell shaped chest piece may be used to detect deeper sounds such as a whelp's heartbeat (from about 6-7 weeks). Our deluxe, dual head, fetal stethoscope detect a heartbeat from about 50 days onward. Our Stethoscopes are backed by a 5 year warranty!
*Please note that detection of a heartbeat with a stethoscope is not always possible, as it will depend on the breed of the bitch and gestation of pregnancy.
Features include:
Dual head can be used to detect fetal and adult heart beats
Adjustable diaphragm
Latex free, PVC tubing
Soft tip ear
Dual tubing for sensitive acoustic sound
Adjustable binaural
Listening to the Heartbeat with a Stethoscope
Our unique dual sided stethoscope can be a great addition to a whelping doppler as they can be a quick way of checking on the bitch during the whelping process and may detect heartbeats of whelps later in pregnancy. However a stethoscope is not intended as a reliable replacement for a whelping doppler as you may not always be able to pick up a heartbeat (depending on whelp's position in utero) and therefore cannot be used for counting purposes or for reliable heartbeat detection.
