These 410 ASTM Stainless steel hemostats are used to clamp the umbilical cord. Proper use eliminates the need to tie the cord. Clamp the cord 1" from the puppies and cut the cord 1" from the clamp. Leave the hemostat clamp on for 2 minutes, remove clamp and apply a bit of iodine to the cut end of the cord.
