Listening to the Fetal Heart Starting at around 50 days, the fetal heartbeat can usually be heard without Doppler amplification (ultrasound). At this point a special stethoscope called a fetoscope can be used.
PLEASE NOTE: Every pregnancy is unique and hearing the fetal heartbeat with ease will depend on many factors, such as the position of the puppies and how / where they are situated. Also, as the pregnancy progresses the fetal heartbeat will become easier to detect.
