Easy to read digital Thermometer to record individual temperatures
1oz Bulb Syringe for removing fluid and mucus from nostils and mouth
5 1/2" Hemostat Kelly Forceps for umbilical cord clamping, one straight and one curved
5 packs of single use sterile lubricant
Sharp scissors with a blunt end for cutting the umbilical cord (not pictured)
2 pairs latex free surgical gloves (not pictured)
Protective carry case to shield sharp instruments
Other things you may want to have in your whelping kit that you can provide for yourself at a minimal cost or use items already present in your household:
individual towels for drying off puppies
Dettol Concentrate for disenfecting instruments and your hands. Dilute some dettol in a bowl of water for easy clean up & disenfection of your hands and tools.
Plenty of newspaper, old clean towels and paper towel
hot water bottle (s)
dental floss (unwaxed) for tying of cord if need be
kitchen scale and basket to weigh puppies
differnt colored puppy markers to ID each puppy
Birth Record Sheet that will list the necessary stats on each puppy. Information should include: Time born, Sex, color, markings, Temperature and weight.
